The thriller ‘IV’ by Arjen Lubach will be adapted for a tv series. Topkapi Films has acquired the rights of this succesful book.
The story deals with 29-year old mathematician Elsa Ruys. While on holiday, she takes the first plane home when she is informed by the police that her father is killed. Back in Amsterdam she discovers that her father, a professor in medieval literature, was on the verge of discovering a huge secret of state.
Producers Frans van Gestel and Arnold Heslenfeld of Topkapi Films who already worked together with publisher Podium (‘Phileine says Sorry’, ‘Black Butterflies’, ‘Blackbook’) are talking with a broadcaster about 4 episodes of 50 minutes each.
The fourth novel of Arjen Lubach was released at the end of February and received excellent reviews. The book has been compared with ‘The Da Vinci Code’ by Dan Brown. In the first month only more than 10.000 copies were sold. ‘IV’ has been nominated for the most important Dutch thriller price, the “Gouden Strop”.
