Monday June 25th, Keep An Eye Film Academy Festival took place at the EYE Museum in Amsterdam. The awards for the graduation films of the Netherlands Film Academy (NFA), class of 2018, were announced. For the seventh time the Topkapi Films Fiction Award was granted.

SISTERS received the award after praising words of this year’s jury, consisting of Jaap Peter Enderle (screenwriter), Dana Nechushtan (director), Aaron Rookus (director), Manon Uphoff (author/screenwriter) en Marijn Bloemen (script editor Topkapi Films): “This film is unique and mesmerizing, very autonomous and universal at the same time. While shaped uncompromisingly, the makers succeed to touch the hearts of the audience directly. The jury was unanimously surprised and enthusiastic: we would like to see this film conquer the world.”

SISTERS tells the story of three sisters growing up in a dysfunctional family. The sisters are dependent upon one another and survive as long as they are together. But is their loving bond strong enough to survive their surroundings?

The Jury also mentioned “Dante vs Mohammed Ali” DOP Sjors Mosman for his gorgeous camerawork and the young Linde van der Storm for her convincing performance in “Tot het einde van de Wereld”.

The SISTERS team wins €3000 to visit the Berlinale 2019.
