Helium, the feature film by Eché Janga (screenplay: Sammy Reynaert), won two Golden Calfs at the 2014 Netherlands Film Festival. Tibor Dingelstad won the award for Best Cinematography, Christiaan Verbeek won the award for Best Music.

Helium tells the story of criminal Frans Weeling who is forced to lie low for a while in a holiday park at the island of Texel. During his stay at the island he is confronted with himself and realizes that in life nothing more is achievable for him, he is just a cog in the machine. This insight enlightens him, but also brings him in a state of total passivity. This passive attitude conflicts with his position as a leader in the criminal world.

Helium is made as part of the Oversteek, coproduced with VARA and supported by the Netherlands Film Fund, CoBO Fund and Mediafund.
