Topkapi’s co production El 5 de Talleres (The Midfielder) is selected in the competition of the 11th edition of Venice Days that will take place from 27 August till 6 September 2014.
After being expelled for a flagrant foul during a match in Primera C, the fourth division in Argentinian football, Patón Bonasiolle, the captain and midfielder from Talleres de Escalada, realizes his career as a footballer has come to an end. At the age of 35, this means the end of a world he has known since he was a child. Together with Ale -his wife- he looks for a fresh new start.
El 5 de Talleres will be the second feature film by Adrián Biniez after his successful debut Gigante.
The film is a co-production between Mutante Cine (Uruguay), Pandora Film Produktion (Germany), Petit Film (France) and Topkapi Films.
The Film is supported by the Hubert Bals Fund +. HBF is an initiative of the International Film Festival Rotterdam and the Netherlands Film Fund that provides grants to remarkable cinema projects in various stages of completion.
