CO-PRODUCTION JULIAN WINS FOUR MAJOR AWARDS AT THE ENSORS

JULIAN, Cato Kusters’ debut feature film has won four major awards at the Ensors. The Ensors are the most prestigious awards when it comes to Flemish film and TV series.

The film won the awards for:

Best Film

Best Director – Cato Kusters

Best ScreenplayAngelo Tijssens & Cato Kusters

Best Actor – Laurence Roothooft

JULIAN was produced by Michiel en Lukas Dhont for The Reunion in co-production with Topkapi Films and Les Films du Fleuve in collaboration with VTM, RTBF, Proximus and Be TV & Orange with the support of Vlaams Audiovisueel Fonds, Screen Flanders, het Nederlands Filmfonds, Netherlands Film ProductionIncentive, Le Centre du Cinéma et de l’Audiovisuel de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, Tax shelter and Lumière Invest.

The film is based on the autobiographical novel by Fleur Pierets from 2019 and tells the story of Fleur and Julian, who fall madly in love and who decide to get married in all countries where they, as two women, are allowed to do so. After only four marriages, their journey comes to a painful and unexpected halt.
