Eva Crutzen returns as Cat in the second season of BODEM (English title: MESSED UP), the series she wrote, directed, and stars in. This time, Cat is trying to get her life back on track. With alcohol locked away, cigarettes put out, a job as a funeral director, and her fortieth birthday looming, everything seems under control—until one night turns everything upside down. Will she stick to the image she’s built for herself, or will she choose her own path? BODEM airs weekly starting Monday, November 3rd at 8:30 PM on BNNVARA, NPO 3, and via NPO Start.
Eva Crutzen: “Cat thinks she finally has a handle on her life, but that very idea is completely shattered this season. We see, among other things, how tempting certainty can be and how difficult, yet liberating, letting go of it can be. After the first season, the bar was set high, and that sometimes made it an extra challenge, besides trust. But I’ve been working on this non-stop for the past two and a half years, and as exciting as it is to say: I’m proud of it and I can’t wait to show it.“
Besides Eva, Lindsay Zwaan, Marieke Heebink, Leopold Witte, Lineke Rijxman, and Nils Verkooijen also return. New faces this season are Kendrick Etmon, René van ‘t Hof, and Alex Hendrickx.
Eva is a known comedian, actress, and singer, and has previously appeared in shows such as Promenade, Klikbeet, Tropenjaren, and the feature film Alles op tafel (Everything on the Table). She received rave reviews for her theater show ‘Opslaan als’ which was later broadcast as a three-part series on BNNVARA. For the first season of BODEM, she won the Hustinx Award for Drama Writers and the Golden Calf for Best Leading Role in a Drama Series, among other awards.
BODEM premieres on September 28th during the Netherlands Film Festival.
BODEM is a co-production of Topkapi Series, BNNVARA, and Eva Crutzen.
