The first round of the Netherlands Film Production Incentive for 2024 has awarded contributions to two productions by Topkapi. Among the 16 feature films, one receiving support is DE HEILIGE ANTONIUS directed by Paloma Aguilera Valdebenito. The film portrays the story of a mother who is forced onto the streets due to mounting debts, facing the impossible task of caring for her children while also being the sole provider. Pressured by government agencies, she is compelled to make a radical decision.
BODEM II by Eva Crutzen is one of the two drama series that have been granted support. A sequel to the successful series, written and directed by Crutzen, it follows the protagonist Cat as she strives to “make something of life.” It promises to be a comedic drama series exploring the unsettling yet comforting imperfections of life.
