We are proud to announce that we have been nominated for 3 Golden Calfs. The One Night Stand Tom Adelaar is nominated for Best Television Drama. The jury described Tom Adelaar, directed by Gonzalo Fernandez and based on the scenario of Ashar Medina, as a “heart warming experience” in which “The viewer becomes part of Tom’s split; through well-chosen frames we sit at the table with his Surinamese family, or we get excited about the competition with his colleagues. In a smooth montage a pleasant lofty reality is put in to place, so that Surinamese winti customs and the world of fast money come together in a unique logical way.”
Yannick Jozefzoon is nominated for Best Actor in a television drama owing to his role as Tom in Tom Adelaar. The jury compares his performance with that of a chameleon. He is “a darling, a fool, a dragon, a clown, and a lonely searching soul. Someone you want to keep looking at.”
Jouman Fattal is nominated for her role in the television series Zuidas in the category Best Actress in a television drama. According to the jury Fattal is able to “convincingly present the dilemma between career and moral values.”
The Golden Calf awards will be announced October 5th, during the gala of the Netherlands Film Festival in Utrecht.
