Topkapi Films will be attending the Netherlands Film Festival 2016 with the feature films Publieke Werken (A Noble Intention), Stop Acting Now, Out of Love and the short film GRATIS.
Publieke Werken (A Noble Intention) has received 10 nominations:

– Best Screenplay (Frank Ketelaar)
– Best Camera (Mark van Aller)
– Best Production Design (Hubert Pouille)
– Best Montage (Peter Alderliesten)
– Best Music (Merlijn Snitker)
– Best Sound Design (Herman Pieëte)
Paloma Aguilera Valdebenito is nominated for best screenplay, with her film Out of Love.
Maartje Remmers is nominated for Best Actress for her role in Stop Acting Now, a coproduction with Wunderbaum.
The Jury described short film GRATIS, by Merijn Scholte Albers and Tobias Smeets, as: “a successful short film that approaches the genre very well. Beautifully played and directed. Nothing is forced. The Jury saw two characters that were portrayed in such a way that all transitions of the story follow smoothly from their actions. That is the essence of telling a good story. Everything is character. The makers of this film have proven to understand this perfectly. GRATIS was a joy to watch.”
GRATIS is nominated for Best Short Film.
The Golden Calf awards will be announced September 30th, during the gala of the Netherlands Film Festival in Utrecht.
