The Netherlands Film Fund granted production money for the new film by Felix van Groeningen: Belgica.
The upcoming drama, written by Van Groeningen and co-writer Arne Sierens, follows two brothers who start a bar and get swept up in its success in the midst of Belgium’s nightlife scene. Matthias Schoenaerts and Stef Aerts will play the main characters.
The film will be produced by Menuet in co-production with Topkapi Films and Pyramide Productions. Principal photography is set to start this autumn.
Sales will be handled by The Match Factory.
